John Stegall (again, unsure of spelling of last name... see below) was born in 1780 in Jamestown, James County Virginia (I think). His parents were Moses Stegall and Mary Elizabeth Harris. Around 1805 he married Jane Stegall. I believe that he was part of the U.S. War of 1812 (though I could not find his name in their online database) in the 5th Reg't (Atkinson's) North Carolina Military. He was a private. This is documented on microfilm M602 roll box 200. He passed away in 1855 in Union County North Carolina.
Jane Stegall was born (I think) in 1784 in Jamestown, James County Virginia. I have no other information on her.
