William (I think his middle name was Washington) Chapman was born at the Chapman Homestead in Alexander County on April 25, 1781. He married Ruth Barnes on March 9, 1807 at age 25 in Wilkes County North Carolina. He passed away in May 1860 in Alexander County North Carolina.
Ruth (W. I think) Barnes was born December 18, 1785 in Wilkes County North Carolina. She was the daughter of Solomon Barnes and Elizabeth Isabell Murphree. She passed away (I think) May 25, 1871 in Ivy Log of Union County Georgia.
