Jesse Turner Rogers was born in Alexander County North Carolina in December 22, 1820. He married Leannah Chapman in 1843 in Alexander County also. The information that I have found is that he was a Private in the U.S. Civil War in Company G, 37th North Carolina Infantry on the Confederate side. The document can be found on film M230 roll 34. His parents were Elisha Rogers and Nancy Harrington. He passed away May 12, 1864.
Leannah Chapman was the daughter of William W. Chapman and Ruth Barnes on March 28, 1827. I do not know where she was born or died. She passed away June 25, 1920 at the age of 83.
